Yes, of course.
control_get_firmware.py can't work in your case (on GNU/Linux).

Maybe control_get_firmware.py could work on Windows. But I have not tested.

Another option to identify the device firmware is to get any reference number on the device itself (on the internal circuit board).
Or maybe the product reference in the Purchase Order, if you still have it.

First I confirm the issue is with the reader : I 've tested with another (same model) and it is detected.
The serial number is :
 15801324 606068

I suggest you to ask for a reader exchange.

This is for the bogus reader?

What is the serial number of the working reader (so it is possible to check they are using the exact same firmware)?
